Our Work
How We Help
For children from remote Himalayan communities, access to education also depends on having a safe place to live, enough to eat, and a school willing to take them in. These are the three things we do every day.

Hostel & Student Welfare
A Home Away from Home
For students who come from remote Himalayan communities, access to education also depends on having a safe and supportive place to live. Our school provides a caring residential environment where students can study, rest, participate in activities, and develop positive relationships with their peers and teachers.
Our Hostel Provides
- Safe and comfortable accommodation
- Nutritious and regular meals
- Clean drinking water
- Study support and supervision
- Health and wellbeing support
- Recreational and sports activities
- A supportive community environment
We strive to make the hostel more than just a place to stay. We aim to create a home away from home where students feel respected, cared for, and encouraged to grow. The wellbeing of our students remains at the heart of our residential program.
Sustainable Nutrition Program
Nourishing Students for a Healthy Future
Good nutrition is essential for children’s health, concentration, learning, and overall development. We are committed to ensuring that students receive healthy, nutritious, and hygienically prepared meals throughout the school year.
Through our Sustainable Nutrition Program, the school has developed a modern kitchen facility designed to improve food preparation, hygiene, efficiency, and sustainability. The kitchen is equipped with modern cooking systems, including a steam-based cooking system that can operate using both LPG gas and firewood.

The Program Helps Us
- Improve the quality and hygiene of meals
- Provide nutritious food for students and staff
- Reduce food preparation costs
- Improve kitchen efficiency
- Reduce cooking time and workload
- Promote more sustainable use of energy
- Strengthen the school’s long-term food and nutrition system
Why It Matters
For many of our students, school meals are an essential part of their daily wellbeing. By investing in nutrition, we are investing not only in healthier children but also in their ability to concentrate, participate, learn, and succeed.
Healthy children learn better. Nourished children have greater opportunities to thrive.

The Challenges We Face
Resources Are Scarce, but Love Never Is
The school is severely overcrowded — many classrooms hold 50 children, and three or four share a single mattress at night. In the harsh mountain winters, even enough warm water to drink is hard to come by, let alone for bathing. Children say washing their hands in winter feels like being cut by ice. Summers are stifling without a single fan; food sometimes runs short, and teachers’ wages are often delayed.
Yet the teachers, volunteers, and alumni who remain do so because they believe every child is not a burden, but hope for the future.
Because of You, No Mountain Is Too High
Whether through monthly giving, a one-time gift, or volunteering in person, your compassion can change the course of hundreds of children’s lives.
